Offering quality Bed and Breakfast Accommodation at Easter Muckovie Farmhouse, or Self Catering Accommodation in the adjacent Barra Cottage. A Member of the Scottish Tourist Board (4 Stars) and the Highlands of Scotland Tourist Board. Open all year round.

Bed & Breakfast

The farmhouse has recently been modernised to a very high standard. It contains two letting bedrooms, each having a double and single bed, allowing them to be offered as double, twin or family rooms.

One room is en-suite and the other has a private bathroom. Each bathroom has a bath and shower over. Both rooms can also take a cot or foldaway bed when required. Colour TV and tea/coffee making facilities are provided in each room. Laundry and clothes drying can be arranged with the owners.

A very wholesome breakfast is served in the central dining room and includes a selection of fruits, juices, cereals, yoghurts, eggs, sausages, bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes or fish when available. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate and a selection of bread and toast is also available.

Situation

The farmhouse is situated on the B9006 which is the Culloden/Croy road. The grounds overlook the Moray and Beauly Firths and lie about one and a half miles from the famous Battlefield and three miles from the town.

Inverness Airport is approximately 12 miles from the house. We are an ideal base for visiting many historical sites and castles, several of which are within a thirty mile radius. Inverness has a regular train and bus service to and from Scotland's major cities and the South, as well as to the North and West Coast.

Nearby castles include Castle Stewart, Brodie Castle, Urquhart Castle and Cawdor Castle, which also boasts a beautiful garden. Loch Ness offers cruises to search for the monster, and Dolphin spotting cruises are available from Inverness harbour or from Cromarty on the Black Isle.

There are also many acclaimed golf courses within this area, some of which are links courses, others lying amidst the splendour of the hills and glens.

Inverness offers two multi-screen cinemas, the Aquadome, ten-pin bowling, a miniature Steam Railway and children's adventure playground with boating pond. Many country walks are available in the surrounding area and details of routes, etc can be obtained from the tourist centre in the Town. Tours by road or rail can be made to Aberdeen in the East, Thurso in the north and Kyle of Lochalsh on the West Coast. Day trips to the Orkney Islands are also available. In winter you can ski at one of Scotland's four ski areas

Many whisky distilleries can be found locally or you can take the "Whisky Trail" which includes many of the most famous brands of both malts and blends.
